Writing as an artist…

Many times I have thought of writing as similar to being an artist.  The artist uses colors and paints a picture for us to see.  The writer uses words and paints a picture for us to read.

I love, love, love a good book.  I love reading and getting lost in the story.

What are some of your favorite books that you have read and why?

Can you relate to the protagonist of the story?  Does the author create a beautiful scene with images?

Examine what you believe makes a good book great.

  1. I love memoirs or books that tell real stories. One particular book I read when in college working on my BA in English was “My Antonia,” a classic! For some reason I could identify with Antonia. The time period different, but the struggles we endure and strength we must exhibit are very much the same.
