Who is your editor?

The other day I took this picture because this is how I got most of my work done.  I spent several hours writing and this little girl “watched” my every word that I typed.

It reminded me of different people who have acted as editors of my life.  What exactly does an editor do?

An editor polishes and refines, he directs the focus of the story or article or movie along a particular course. He cuts out what doesn’t fit, what is unessential to the purpose of the story. He enhances the major points, drawing attention to places where the audience should focus.

Think of those who polished and refined you.  Did you have a special person in your life that helped you focus when you felt your life was unclear?  What about those friends who helped you on your journey.  What about when you needed to hear the truth to see what you needed to know.  Think of those friends who helped you to see your beauty when you didn’t feel beautiful.  Or how about that friend that helped you when you just needed a helping hand.

All of those “editors” of our lives can come in many different ways.  Sometimes our editors can be family or friends.

Examine who the editors are in your life and be grateful they have been a part of your life journey!
