I got my butt kicked by pain these last 4 days. I literally could not get out of bed and was forced to lay down. One thing that is very hard for me to do since I am constantly in a state of motion. My body demanded I needed to rest so it put me there. I was so sick that I didn’t even turn on my computer for 4 days. I decided to use the time of pain to bring me back to the simple things in life. I couldn’t eat, I just drank liquids and of course my dog Courtney stayed by my side the whole time. It was a good reminder that without the health of our body we don’t have anything. The pain put me behind on my schedule of “lists” that I have accumulated, but I realize they will be there the next day or the next day.
What happens when pain gets in your day? I have a few friends who are in chronic pain, and I just can’t imagine what that must be like. Pain makes me appreciate my health and to guard it carefully. Today in your journal reflect on times when you have been in pain. This could be physical or even emotional pain as well. How did you handle your crisis and what got you through to the other side?
I am looking forward to getting back on track now that my body is cooperating with me!
