The gear shift of life…

This morning during my meditation I had a strong visualization of a gear shift in my mind.  Hmmm, interesting (I was thinking, I haven’t driven a stick shift in years)…the more I thought of the meaning I began to realize that we all have a gear shift in our lives.  We all know people who are content to live their lives in first gear while others seem to rev up and kick it all the way into fourth gear.  As I was learning to drive (on a stick shift) I can remember all the stalls I had because I couldn’t quite get the clutch thing.  It is such a delicate balance to shift from one gear to the next.  Where in your life are you shifting gears?  Maybe you are climbing and need to downshift and take it slower or maybe you are in first gear and need to try for another speed.  Examine and see what gear you are in and if you are not in the right gear for this time of your life, which way do you need to shift.

The shifts in our lives are not always easy…
