Sometimes a memoir page is most helpful when…

Life can be tiresome and messy.  On our worst days, when the emotional fog is thick like wet sand, we may try to push it aside, but it stubbornly oozes back.  And we stumble along, not knowing what is wrong or what is missing, until we cry ouselves raw at a tiny emotional pinprick.  Sometimes a memoir page is most helpful when it tells the story of the messy and the difficult side of life.

Last summer I was living in what I like to call the “mess.”  I was going through some purging of my life and felt a real sense of loss and loneliness.  It was during last summer that I wrote through what was and is to be one of my most amazing  journeys of writing in my life.  I wrote through the emotional fog and came across to the other side of a better understanding of who it is that I am.  But I know that if it wasn’t for doing the deep, heartfelt writing I wouldn’t be as far along in my journey without it.  I challenge you today to look at your “stories” a little deeper and see what you find…
