Reading Dr. Suess brings me back to memories of my childhood. As a young girl I devoured books. My mom would drive me faithfully each week to my weekly meeting of the Bookworm Club. I will never forget the young librarian who loved books like I did. Each week she would load me down with books and at the end of the week we would discuss them. If my mom was smart she would have punished me by taking my books away, not by means of the belt.
As I became a mother I introduced my children to the wonders of reading and I am happy to report that all 4 love to read.
There are many lessons we can learn in life and I like the way Dr. Suess tells it like it is!
Oh the Memories! Dean my son loved Green Eggs & Ham, by Dr. Seuss. I used to get tired of reading the same story every day. One day I surprised him with a green eggs and ham breakfast. I can still see those beautiful brown eyes of his light up! I wonder if he remembers that. I will have to ask him. Or, maybe I will prepare for him green eggs and ham when he visits me.
