It is nearly the end of 2011

I love to reflect upon the year as the new year is just about ready to begin.  As I look back upon 2011 it is probably one of the most years of growth that I have ever experienced.  I have some of my most happy times this year and some of my most sad.  Through each experience I have grown and learned, so it has made me a stronger person.

2011 started off with my First Annual Women Inspiring Women Conference.  Through a lot of hard work from my marketing team I feel as though this first conference was a huge success.  All the women who attended loved this inspiring event.

During 2011 I finally released a very toxic relationship that I had been involved off and on for several years.

I rediscovered Bikram Yoga at Bikran Yoga University Village in Palm Desert, it was instrumental in a huge catalyst in my life.  I did the 30 day challenge with my friend Melanie and I we actually did (eeks, I can’t believe it, was it 46 classes in 30 days??)

I taught workshops up in Seattle this past summer and visited my grown kids in the bay area.

Some of the sad events were the loss of my father in March and then in December the loss of one of my best friends, Teresa, to breast cancer.

Courtney survived a dog attack this year and then a few months later went blind.  It has broke my heart to see all that she has gone through, but she is such a trooper and getting along so well now!

In August I started training for my first half marathon.  At the time I could barely run a half mile without having to stop and then more and more I got stronger and stronger and so far this month I have already ran 120 miles in just December (and I still have 2 days left to add mileage!)

In October my friend Melanie and I did the Palm Springs Tram Road Challenge, but we took it a step further.  We started the first annual Tam-Mel-Athalon.  This is a 3 part event: we did the tram run, then ran the bump and grind trail and then finished it off with a bikram yoga class.

During this year I explored lots of new hiking trails, rode my bike for miles.

I gained some great new friends, I released some friends.

Courtney and I moved to Palm Springs…

I lost 40 pounds.

I found myself…

I have never been happier!
