Honor the value of writing…

I’ve heard it said that showing up is 90 percent of life.  The same is true of any creative endeavor-including writing.  You don’t have to wait for an entire evening to clear on your calendar.  You can accomplish so much in just a few minutes.  Spending fifteen minutes writing-even on the busiest of days-will allow your soul to settle and a sense of balance to return.  What this does ask of you is to honor the value of writing, to make writing a priority.  For in writing, you cannot help but become more of yourself.

Today in your writing think about your personal writing schedule.  What does it feel like to you when your soul settles and you feel a sense of balance in your life, remember balance for you may not seem like balance to me.  Enjoy looking at your life and remember…just show up!

  1. You’ve inspired me! I have been putting off writing for days because I want to sit down for a long chunk of time. Thanks for the reminder that I need to just do it. It doesn’t matter if it’s only for a little while. Now, off to my notebook!
