Hiking your journey…

Life is a journey, a cycle of ups and downs and in-betweens.  I could never get to the ups without hiking through some downs and in betweens along the way.  Who among us doesn’t want to stay camped out on the peaks?  Life is about moving forward.  The ups and the downs in our life require forward movement on our part and can help us maintain our sense of being fully alive.  We need the valleys as well as the peaks and plateaus in-between.

So today give thanks for having both extremes and the in-betweens.  I know that without the low times I would not appreciate the high times as much.  In those times in your life when you feel stuck in the valley just look ahead and put one foot in front of the other.

Today in your writing examine where you are in your journey.  Are you on a plateau?  A peak or in the valley?
