Happy Anniversary!

Two years ago today the woman on the left (you all know her as my Monday Blogger – Mondays with Melitas) walked into my office.  Well, actually it was more of a saunter.  I had spoken with her on the phone a week before and told her where and when to report for starting to write her memoir.  All I can really remember from that phone conversation was that she said her age was 91.  What I was expecting to come through the door was not what did.  I expected her to come through the door with a caretaker, probably in a wheelchair or walker, maybe an oxygen tank hooked onto her chair…you get the picture.

She arrived early, a good sign I thought!  She was very coherent for a 91 year old, hmmm this should be interesting I thought.  After the 90 minute class I knew I was going to like her.  What I didn’t realize was how much I would grow to love her.

If you are fortunate to have a class with Melitas you will love it.  I am fortunate that her friend Diane let her know about my workshops.  Whether we are playing cribbage, drinking a tequila on the rocks with salt, discussing business or talking about her next blog I enjoy each and every moment.

Two years ago I met the most amazing woman and I am grateful!
