Growth and Change…

I recently came across this picture of my 4 kids and me in Santa Barbara on a vacation many years ago.  My kids now range in age from 21-26.  Sometimes I can’t believe that I can have grown kids!

I look at pictures of me when I was younger and I can hardly remember “who” I was.  As a writer I have documented so much of my life that I can look back through pictures and journal entries and see what I was thinking and doing.  I am often surprised when I read entries that seem so trivial.  Things I spent so much time worrying about are things I wouldn’t even think twice about now.  As I get older I can look back and see where I have grown and where I have changed.

I love feeling at peace and there is nothing better than an inner peace.  I am grateful for the times of change and growth because as I reflect I see those times have helped shape me to be who I am today.

I appreciate so much more as I look back upon a wonderful life full of wonderful memories.  Even though my kids are grown and live in the bay area I can appreciate the time we share together when we are together.  I am learning to be more present and to appreciate the small moments that at the time may seem insignificant.
