A page a day…make a commitment to yourself…

Writing has always been a personal matter for me.  As a young child I would record my comings and goings in a diary.  I even made up my own little secret code just in case some one tried to read my words…

Today I continue to write and share.  As I was teaching yesterday I reminded my students that even if you wrote only one page a day at the end of a year you would have 365 pages recorded.

A page a day…simple enough.

Make a commitment to yourself that you will write each day.  Maybe it will be a whole episode from your childhood, maybe just a reflection of a thought of the day.  Maybe just a word.

Record your life, record your thoughts.  This morning I had the privilege of sitting outside this early morning before the heat comes in, drinking my coffee and just writing.  Sometimes I write in the middle of the night, sometimes in the morning or evening.  It just depends on what works best for you.  The important thing is to honor your commitment to write and stand strong.
