Today in my writing I reflected on these wise words from Confucius.  I want my wisdom to come from reflection as I have examined my life I realize that a lot of my wisdom has come from experience. 

As I have been teaching my memoir workshops I notice that my wisdom I have been accumulating over these last 3 and a half years has come from reflecting on the stories of the lives of my students.  I see now that I can grow and become all of what I need to be by learning from older, wiser women.

I am grateful for all the lessons life brings my way, especially the lessons I can learn from others that I may not have to go down those hard roads of experience.
