Sometimes I think of my memoir pages as pieces of a giant puzzle: if I could fit them all together, I could see “me.” They identify who is important to me, what experiences have shaped me, and how I feel. All I have to do is look at a page, and I can feel the emotions I was experiencing at the time. Creating a page about a recent trip to the beach or a visit with my son is not about living in the past. It is about naming what is important to you, defining who you are.
