Coincidence? Naw….

Lat night while I was waiting for a friend to arrive for dinner I seated myself next to an elderly gentleman and we were both waiting.  I was smiling as I was watching a group from the Special Olympics in the doorway as they greeted the arriving diners.  I looked over at him and said, they are so special and happy.  He begin to tell me that he had a special needs son who is now 56.  He said that when he and his wife could no longer take care of him they took him to a special home that would be more appropriate to meet his needs.  His eyes began to tear up as he told me his wife couldn’t bear to drive to the home to drop off their son, so he and the son traveled alone.  He said when he was about halfway there he had to pull over and began to sob.  He said that was the hardest thing he ever had to do.  I spoke with him about the experience briefly and then he shared that his wife of 57 years had just passed away.  Shortly thereafter my friend arrived and I shook his hand and told him it was nice meeting him and I told him that I thought he should really write his story.  He thanked me and I left…awhile later he came over to my table and asked me if he could have my phone number because he would like to learn more about writing his memoir.  Was it a coincidence that he arrived early as did I?  I believe all that we do is in divine timing…I am glad I didn’t do what I normally do…check my emails from my blackberry.  This is a good reminder to be present each opportunity!  Nice meeting you Mr. Wolf, I hope to hear from you again.
