Sometimes our sadness is not something we can attribute toa specific cause, but is more a feeling of emptiness. There are times we may just seem to lose our motivation or inspiration. The best advice I’ve ever heard about overcoming this feeling is “do something.” Do something for yourself or for another person-even for the houseplants! It doesn’t really matter what it is; the act of doing will help. As you start “doing” something, your feelings begin to shift. You will feel more productive. Memoir writing is a great impetus to “do” something. In the act of creating a page by adding photographs and your words you grow. When a page is finished it is a visible sign not only of the moment you documented, but also of the energy and love you gave to creating.
