Last week I had the privilege of spending the day with one of my favorite Jewish ladies. From the moment I met Dorys, I felt an instant connection and then when I heard she was Jewish the deal was sealed!
You see, I must confess something to you…I have always wanted to be Jewish.
I am not sure if it was from studying all the Old Testament History that I studied in my theology classes or whether it was the tradition of this age old religion. I have been fascinated by the Jewish people as a whole and for some reason I am drawn to them with all my various friends.
I was able to learn more about the Jewish faith from Dorys that day and she even took me to the temple and I was able to go inside. I am looking forward to going to temple with her next week (at sundown…even that sounds exciting!).
As a child I was always drawn to spiritual things. I wanted to grow and learn and figure out who God really is. As an adult I am still drawn to studying and learning about all different faiths and backgrounds.
Looking forward to studying the Torah and connecting more with my Jewish friends! Plus, I love Yiddish words!
Another perk about where I live is that I have lots of “jewish mothers” here…oy vey!!
