Having just returned from a wonderful trip to Tammy’s Corfu Island women’s writing retreat, I feel renewed and on the right track to finish my memoir. The insights, lessons, and friendship that Tammy offers is unique and special. The women I met at this retreat inspired and encouraged me to complete my memoir.
I also met new friends, Greek, Thai, and well-traveled adventurous women who were confident, empathetic, and honest. This retreat helped me to come out of my little shell and be more confident in my writing. The environment created around writing was comfortable, fun, encouraging, and genuine. I have been to many of Tammy’s retreats, but this one was one of the best. Tammy has the ability to bring together the right group of women on these retreats, almost like a support group dedicated to writing. She always has a new perspective and ideas for teaching writing using examples, readings, writings, and she coaches you one on one to bring out the best in your writing. She truly loves what she is doing and it shows. If you have a chance to attend one of her retreats, you will come away a changed person. I have a new confidence in my writing and many new friends.

The TLC writing retreat in Corfu (2019) was fantastic. Tammy is intuitive and caring, and her unique combination of knowledge, training, and support inspired and motivated me. I am not a professional writer, but the coaching and feedback that she provided made me see possibilities that I hadn’t thought of before. In addition to all of this, Tammy and our host, Elena, a native Corfiot, took us to great restaurants and to some little-known and out-of-the-way sights and unique experiences. Tammy Coia is bringing a group of women back to Corfu, Greece for one of the most spectacular retreats you could imagine. Elena was born in Corfu and has strong ties and affection for her beloved country. You will get to tour the land with a local as she shares her love for her homeland. Elena has come back home to Corfu in 2016 after spending 15 years living in Bangkok. While living in Thailand, Elena created and managed 7 very popular and successful Greek restaurants! You’ll find she is a woman who gets things done and knows everyone in town.
Elena and her brother now own Olive Retreats on the island of Corfu. Last year the women I brought to the workshop were the very first guests to enjoy the villas! Elena is a go-getter and a true entrepreneur at heart.
We will arrive at her villas to spend 6 nights and 7 days being pampered by Elena. The weather is perfect in May (65-75 degrees). This is an opportunity to experience Corfu like no other, through a local’s eyes.
I have reserved all of Elena’s available rooms for a week-long retreat. I will be teaching all new workshops for the week.
We will have between 5 – 8 writers, so you will get your own personalized individual attention. We have 2 Girlfriend Rooms available outfitted with twin beds, if you and a friend would like to come and share a room.

Arrive in the afternoon of the first day and leave mid-day of the last day. (I have a recommendation, fly in a few days early and relax and shake off the jet lag. There are several airbnb locations in old town Corfu or stay at one of the beautiful resorts, I can give you some suggestions).

Where is The Corfu Retreat?
I have traveled to Greece several times and if you have too, then you know about the beauty of the people and the place. Corfu is a destination for many reasons. Corfu is among the most beautiful and popular islands of the country. Due to its strong historical connection with Europe, this was among the first Greek islands to open to tourism. Located on the Northwestern side of the country, Corfu has a cosmopolitan feeling combined with a special traditional character. We will be staying near the village of Acharavi on the North side of the island with many taverns and café’s. Elena will pick each for us with a local’s eye. Apart from the wonderful beaches, the highlight of the island is the Old Town with the characteristic Venetian style and we’ll make sure to see many wonderful spots.
Corfu Retreat Cancellations
Refunds (minus a non-refundable deposit of 10%) are available at 75% up to 90 days in advance of the retreat, 50% up to 60 days in advance and 25% up to 30 days in advance. No refunds within 30 days of retreat – no exceptions. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
