Where You Stay
Hotel Leone is a restored pre-1500’s palazzo which the owners have transformed into an award winning luxury boutique hotel. It sits at the foot of the ancient hilltop town of Montelparo in Central Italy and rests elegantly between the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic coast. It’s a picture-postcard, medieval setting, with winding streets, well worn stone-steps and shaded courtyards, interwoven between historic piazzas and panoramic viewpoints. Guests at Hotel Leone can experience the genuine day-to-day life of Le Marche, where the seasons lead the daily rhythms of the people and local industry.
They have completely restored the entire property to a very high standard incorporating as many environmentally friendly features as is possible in an old historic building. The owners pride themselves on their attention to detail in delivering the ultimate in guest comfort and hospitality. They have created a haven for their guests with plenty of comfortable areas such as the sitting room, bar, terrace, lounge area at the poolside as well a vaulted ceiling restaurant and the courtyard for outside dining which is perfect for leisurely breakfasts and mouth-watering evening meals. All rooms are wonderfully spacious, some have balconies and internet radio’s and all have tea and coffee making facilities, air-conditioning, TV’s with hundreds of free inhouse on-demand movies, plump towels and high thread count linen. There are central honesty mini-bars on each floor if you don’t want to join in for a cocktail in the Empire bar. There’s also Wi-fi throughout, even at the swimming pool.

How to Arrive at Hotel Montelparo
The owners have extensive experience in route planning and are here to help you find the easiest and most convenient way to get to them. Please remember with group bookings that we have to organize to pick up the whole group and so we can’t be in more than two places at once! So it’s always best to talk to us first before booking your travel arrangements so that you won’t have too long to wait for us to get to you. Included in the price of your holiday are transfers to and from Hotel Leone. This is from either Ancona airport or from the seaside town train station of Pedaso. Sometimes we can also pick up from Ancona railway station.
Low cost airlines Ryanair and Easyjet both fly directly into Ancona airport (code AOI). It’s also possible to fly to Ancona from many regional airports with Lufthansa with a quick change of planes in Munich (luggage is included and checked right through within their price) and they have several connections every day. Lufthansa via Munich to Ancona is also the best route for intercontinental flights from USA and Canada. Flying daily from Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Montreal, JFK, Newark, San Francisco, Washington, Miami, Vancouver and Toronto.
Pedaso is our nearest railway station and coach point if coming from elsewhere in Italy or from Rome.
Trains – The Italian rail service is usually fast and efficient.
Announcements at stations and on board trains are also made in English.
The easiest route is Bologna to Pedaso (with a change at the mainline station at Ancona). Onwards from Bologna is Verona and Milan. The owners are more than happy to advise on the best train routes from the UK to Pedaso if you prefer a more relaxed mode of transport with an overnight stop in central Europe!
Coaches – There are fast coaches running from both Rome airports across to Pedaso and are usually faster than taking the train.
