Growth means embracing every moment, not just the fantastically exciting or stimulating ones.  It also means accepting sadness and disappointment as part of life, and embracing the gifts that struggle and time will bring.  I doubt the day will come when I welcome difficult times with the same joy I welcome celebrations.  When sadness creeps into my life, my first instinct is to squash it.  Find more happiness.  Look on the bright side.  But the longer I live, the more I see that sadness is as much a part of life as happiness is.  Life-a full life-is about both.

Today in your writing explore the times when the difficulties have come.  What have you learned?  Where have you gotten your strength from?  Look and examine when in your life have you grown the most.
