My first day of arriving to Greece I spent about 8 hours exploring the ancient city of Athens.  That evening I ventured onto a little propeller plane to head to the island of Skiathos.  I spent a glorious two days exploring this island by myself.  I had a great time meeting the local people and making friends along the way.  I signed up and took a cooking class, drank greek beer, drank greek wine, ran the streets of the island, saw Mamma Mia in an open air cinema with the locals.  We sang, we danced, we laughed.  The Greeks like the Americano.  Even though we don’t always understand each others language a smile and gestures does the job.  I then took a ferry to the island of Alonossis where I was met up with Julie Maloney the founder of Womenreadingaloud.org.
