When you know someone-really know him and love him or her-it is a special gift to be on the viewing side of the camera.  Photographs are gifts that portray important times of change.  Photographs contain the core of our relationships.  If someone is looking at my camera, our relationship is held in that space between camera and eyes.  There is an intimate moment that occurs when people let us view them purposefully, through a camera lens.  Any authentic emotion that we can capture comes from their reaction to us.
