I love the meanings of words.  This morning the word cultivate has been on my mind.  Generally when one thinks of cultivating you tend to think of it in terms of gardening.  To cultivate also means to improve or tend to, to give special attention to something.  We all practice cultivating different areas of our lives on a daily basis.  For those of you who practice meditation, you cultivate a practice centered on being mindful and awakening your true self.  When you work in your relationships with friends and family you are cultivating.

Where in your writing do you need to cultivate?  Where in your writing do you need to dig deep and get to the heart of the story?  Just as in gardening, you have to dig deep and sometimes get your hands dirty, but the results will be amazing.  Let’s all practice cultivating today…in our writing, our speech and our relationships!
