Every time I start a new writing project, I am tempted to want perfection. I can become overwhelmed with the possibilities. The beauty is that, once I get started, the journey takes over as I add, take away, and step back to reflect. Being open to the journey of creating a page leads me to surprising vistas and feelings of accomplishment. Once in awhile, though, I find my analytical mind drifting to the outcome of a page. At those moments, I take a gentle breath and remind myself to follow the path of the page-to trust my sense of balance and proportion and to allow the photographs and the written words to speak.
