What a beautiful morning here in the desert.  The nights are gorgeous too!  A few nights ago I went out to Joshua Tree with a friend of mine and Courtney to view the stars.  In the distance was an amazing thunder and lightning storm and then slowly the stars came out at night. I put the top down in my little bmw convertible and made Courtney a cute little bed behind my seat.  She sat there for for hours and was so good watching all of the stars.  It is amazing how small we really are in reality!

Those of you who attended any of our summer series of classes I wanted to say thank you.  Pat and I had a great time teaching our workshops and look forward to presenting some more this fall.  I now have about 3 weeks off until I start up the fall workshops.  I am just loving life and hope you are too!

I hope that each day you make meaningful contact with at least one other person that crosses your path.

Enjoy your day!

My Best Thoughts…

I realized today as I was on my bike that some of

my best thoughts come as I am riding my bike.

I love to ride each morning.   There is nothing like

breathing in the fresh early morning air as you

begin to feel the sun start beating down.  I try to get

in at least 20 miles each day.  I love the feeling

of pushing myself so hard that when I am finished

my lungs are burning and my legs feel like

rubber!  Today my thoughts were on friendship.

I thought about my students that I have taught here

in the desert and how special they have become to

me.  I thought about how excited I am for the

upcoming workshop on Sunday, August 23 and

about the new workshops in the fall.  I am thankful

that I have the ability to work alongside some

of the best women in the world.  Here in the

desert are the most amazing women and I am so

thankful to be a part of their lives!  As Oprah talks

about….Living your best life…I am truly living mine.

I know that if I should die tomorrow, I would

have no regrets because I have lived a

wonderful life and I have the best life!

Summer almost gone!

Where did the summer go?  I have really been enjoying my summer here in the desert!  I have been walking Courtney very early each morning and then off on my bike for a 90 minute bike ride all around Palm Desert, before it gets too, too hot!  I have been attending wonderful business meetings with the Coachella Valley Business Women’s Council here in Palm Desert.  Today I went to a marketing meeting with the CVBWC.  I am really exciting about teaching on August 23 at the IW Club.  It will be my last summer luncheon meeting and I will be speaking about Language in our Writing and Pat Claytor, my co-facilitator will be speaking on the power of words.  Make plans now to attend.

Fall workshops begin the week of September 21!  I am looking forward to seeing all of you sometime this fall.  I have developed a new program called the Master Level series and it will be for those students who would like to continue on after they have completed the legacy series.

Hope all is well with you and that you are doing lots of writing.  If you weren’t able to attend the August 1st workshop, we had Erica come from Fast Pencil and it is a great way to get your work published.  Go to and sign up…it’s free!
